Description
Doorways always make me wonder who walked through them and when and why. These old stone entrancescould be centuries old. Seen on Caldey Island, off Tenby in Pembrokeshire.
One of Britain's Holy Islands, Caldey is owned and run by Cistercian (Trappist) monks who have an abbey on the island. Situated about 1 km from the mainland near Tenby, the island economy is based on farming and the many tourists who visit in the summer, with boats crossing every 20 minutes during the day, weather permitting.
Caldey is a tremendously peaceful place to visit and walk around.
